Explorer Belt 2012 is a Explorer Belt expedition to Luxemburg and Belgium. It will take place from the weekend of the 17th August until the 1st September. The Explorer Belt is the challenge of a lifetime, which is open to members of the Scout and Guide movement who are between 16 and 25 years old. It is a chance to take part in a ten day expedition that brings a real understanding of a different country, its people and way of life.

To take part in Explorer Belt 2012:-
  • Be over 17 and under 25 on the 31st August 2011
  • Plan and train for an international expedition as part of a small team
  • Travel to another country
  • Travel through that country over ten days over approximately 100 miles
  • Complete a self selected major project
  • Complete about ten smaller projects
  • Keep a notebook or diary during the expedition
  • Take part in a debriefing after the expedition
  • Make a presentation about the expedition

How do you register to take part?
Spaces are limited and will be awarded on a first come first served basis. Completed booking forms and the first payment of £50 must be returned to the address on the Application form by the closing date of the 21st November 2011. Participants can apply as part of a team of 3 people. Individuals can also apply and will join other individuals to form a team. The cost of Explorer Belt 2012 will be £450 + the cost of training weekend (estimated at £20).
